To celebrate National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, and to coincide with the 15th National Games (15th National Games), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th Special Olympics (Paralympics), the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is presenting the light installation "National Games in Bloom" at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza from now until October 19. The large emblems of the 15th National Games and the Paralympics, along with the adorable mascots "Xiyangyang" and "Lerongrong," will become a popular photo-op.
Designed and produced by local multimedia art studio Na Design & Architecture, "National Games in Bloom" utilizes layered carving techniques and dynamic light and shadow technology to depict the logos of 13 sports from the 15th National Games and the Paralympics, shimmering and dancing within circular, triangular, and diamond-shaped mirrored light boxes, vividly interpreting the rhythm and dynamic beauty of sports. The installation transforms the torches into large metal petals that float on the water, combined with flowing light and shadow effects to create the illusion of fireworks blooming in the sky.
